I can’t believe this year is over. It’s be a sad and hard year.
My dad passed in January, sometimes it seems like it just happened yesterday.
A good friend of mine lost her ex-husband and ex-father in-law in the spand of 4 months. Her children will be forever without a father and a grandfather to tell the kids how great of a person their dad was.
But there was also good this year. My niece and nephew who are brother and sister each had a little one in July 2 days apart. Ron welcomed Saydee on July 3 and Krystal welcomed Elijah on July 5…she went into labor on the 4th, but I guess Elijah wanted his own special day.
I can’t wait to see what happens in 2014!!

When my brother’s kids were young he told them that the day before Christmas Eve, was called Christmas Adam.
So Happy Christmas Adam, Everyone!
Every year work gives it’s employees $100.00 gift card and with that money I bought myself a new bicycle.
My other bicycle I got used and rode it until it was starting to fall apart and when I started pricing everything to fix it up, it was cheaper in the long run to buy a new one. This bike was $94.94 and so with tax the total was $103.72, so I paid $3.72! Not bad for a new bicycle.
5 days and counting. All my shopping is done but I am still picking up little things to put in my mom’s stocking and maybe an item or 2 for me. I am always on the look for different looking christmas socks and jewelry.

Christmas red, green and black socks-not that anyone can see them.
Red and Green rhinestone earring hoops
I love what some people call the tacky, ugly christmas sweaters, turtlenecks, socks, jewelry.
Probably because when I was in college I couldnt afford to go home at Christmas. My parents had their own business so money was tight, but since I was putting myself thru Art school in Pittsburgh I needed the money from my job and taking time off just wasn’t an option.
So when I see the loud, adorable and silly Christmas sweatshirts, sweaters, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, hats, socks and anything else Christmas I just smile.
I think that one day when I retire (or sooner if I had only won the lottery!) I will move to
Santa Claus, Indiana and open a Christmas store and wear my sweaters and socks year round.
